So, I'm one paper shy of graduation. I need to get started, but believe it or not I'm having a hard time getting motivated!! But, I'm done with clinicals forever!! I need to get my life back in order. Cleaning, cooking, organizing, shopping...I need organization! I have spent so long ignoring certain necessities, but alas, that time is nearing an end!
Allie is doing awesome! She's been such a joy lately. I feel like we are connecting better. I'm not sure if it's because I've been trying harder to connect with her or if it's just her phase of life. It is easier for me to sit and do activities with her. She has a longer attention span. She'll do an art project, read a book, watch more than 5 minutes of a movie (our favorite is Mary Poppins lately...only she calls it Mary Poppin, so cute)! We are getting her tubes placed next week. I'll be honest, I've been nervous about getting them because I feel like we're jumping the gun. Yes, we had a run of problems, but she's been doing so well lately. We put her on some Zyrtec and that seems to be helping the allergy symptoms, and she seems so much better. However, I had Katie look in her ears today (I had to give my otoscope back...and yes, I looked too), and it looks like her left ear is perforated again. I know that it was closed up at her appointment, but it looks like it's burst again. So, I will have Katie look again, but we'll probably go ahead next week.
So, our family headed to St. Louis for a three day weekend. It was so great to have Dana and Debbie look over Allie and let us relax. We headed to the zoo Friday, butterfly garden on Saturday and Science museum on Sunday. Well, Jason and I did the zoo and Science museum, but Dana and Debbie took her to the butterfly garden. I have a bad sinus infection and actually got myself on antibiotics today for the first time since I was 14 years old. I think it's only the third time in my entire life. But, I was DYING! I had this massive pressure in my right sinus, radiating to my ear and jaw. It was awful! I rested a lot while I was there. Slept in every morning and got a nap every day! I cannot thank them enough!

Jason and Allie looking at prairie dogs! Can I just say that the St. Louis zoo is the absolutely best! There is sooo much to see everywhere you look, and there's never a dull moment. We saw some big grizzly bears swimming with their exercise balls (which was a first) and all the exhibits are so fun!!
Debbie and Allie looking at some penguins. I actually stayed out of this exhibit that day. It is cold and a little smelly, and I just wasn't feeling it!
A rare all family photo. We rode the train. Allie really wanted to, but then got a little scared and wanted to get off at the third stop. But, then she talked about it the rest of the day...so who knows!
Mommy and Allie. Can you see the apprehension on her face?

Debbie reading Allie a book.
Grandpa and Allie watching Mary Poppins clips on You Tube. She LOVES the songs. Knows the words to "Let's Go Fly a Kite!"

Seriously, she loves Mary Poppins!!

Still trying to watch while daddy tickles her!
Playing with the hammer toy grandma had for her. Such a simple way to keep a kid entertained!!
Science museum ceiling with all the balls rolling around...pretty cool. I started feeling very poorly about 15 minutes into this little outing, so Allie and Jason went without me. I sat on a chair with my head in my hands...so miserable!
Allie and daddy building

Strange little motion harp. You stick your hands in here and it makes this cool harp sound. She really liked it!
So that was it. I took her to day care today and went to my unit update, then to the doctor to get drugs. Can I just say that the doc literally walked in the room, looked in my ears, throat, listened to me, and wrote me a script! Didn't ask me a single question. The nurse had asked me my symptoms, but the doc just wrote a script and was out in 2 minutes. The adult world is so different than the peds world where we ask a million questions and still second guess antibiotics.
So, this is Allie and I tonight goofing off after her bath with her new sunglasses. She's such a funny little girl! I love her so much. I'm now tired and heading to bed! Hope you all are getting a good start to your week!!

I have been sitting here with the laptop thinking about how I should be working on my paper. It is the last one....forever and I don't care. I feel nothing for this paper. I had fun with interviews and that it where it ends. I am not a leader. Love the new pictures!
Ha Ha Ha Ha!!!!
That picture with the sunglasses is adorable. I'm glad some R&R was in the mix this weekend :) I love you!
