Piano girl

Allison loves to play on the piano. She will stand there for a very long time and just pound away at the keys and talk to herself. Maybe she thinks she's singing a song.

On a separate note, we don't really know what to do with her lately. She doesn't want to take a bottle anymore, but she won't drink formula out of her sippy cup. I'm not sure how we're going to get through this one, but I know we'll figure it out. We always do! She also is trying to switch up her nap schedule on me. She doesn't really want to take a morning nap, but she's tired and crabby and needs to sleep. So we're transitioning to maybe just one nap a day. I'm going to miss those long naps. Less time to get anything done!! But, that's what raising kids is all about...their needs many times come before your own!!

Maybe her long, two naps aren't going away for good. Now that Jonathan is walking, he is wiped out. We have been getting two 1 1/2 hour naps/day. Who really knows, anyway?? They are all so different and they all go through these phases. My mother says, "this too shall pass". She is right, and sometimes it makes me sad about how quickly some things pass.

Perhaps the two long naps will exchange for one longer nap. With mine, when the morning nap went away they took earlier afternoon naps. I did it on purpose because the afternoon nap was getting way too late in the day and then bedtime became too difficult. They just don't seem to need two naps a day after a certain age. Sarah's right....each one is different!
