These pictures aren't quite as good since I took them with my other camera, but here's the view at the bottom of the stairs turned to the right. You can see a little window (the only one), and the door for the sump pump. And...this is about as picked up as we can get it these days. The kids helped last night. We've made that a rule (when we choose to enforce it is entirely another story).
The back corner now. We have a couple couches down here now (brown of course) and you can see the door to the storage area behind. The storage area is quite large. It can hold a ton - we love it!
The small couch looking into the bedroom. You can see the pole that will need to be dealt with. We're eventually going to put up some rounded molding so the kids don't bump heads on corners. 
Looking back the other way from the bedroom. Yes, the toys have taken over. We went through the basement and removed a lot of things when we put everything down there. We need to do it again. There's just so much stuff! I'm amazed that I had all of this upstairs in our front room. How did it all fit??
Other side of the bedroom with the futon from college. Eventually there will be a bed. We sometimes live in 'eventually' around here. 
My next post...neglected closets. I'm checking them off people.

Val, your basement looks great! What a fun area for the kids! Hope to see you soon, we are moving to Lawrence this upcoming weekend.
