There is a computer in the family room, so I thought I would post quickly. My Mac doesn't like the wireless here, so I'm out of luck.
First, Allison had her first sleepover last night. Thanks Katie!! We had to leave really early in the morning, so I wanted her to be able to sleep and stay put. She had an amazing time! More on that next posting.
Andrew did an amazing job today! I'm so proud of him for putting up with all we've done to him. We met downtown at the GI clinic for his scope and biopsy. They have this nifty procedure room where they do anesthesia and everything. They got his IV on the first try and the little guy barely made a sound! After the propofol went in, he was out like a light. The procedure only took about 10-15 minutes, then they came and updated him and started the wake-up. They also placed his pH probe while he was still out. I thought that was kind!
Dr. Li came and talked to us about the endoscopy. He even gave us some pictures. The scope was 100% normal. Yay for more normal! But boo for still not having answers. They took a few biopsy samples of his upper intestine and lower esophagus. We should have those results in about a week. So, I'm guessing the g-tube is not happening this week...but that's only a guess.
We headed back to South with Andrew in tow. He has this nifty little tube all taped to his nose and some elbow restraints on to keep from pulling it out. I'll post pictures as soon as I can. We checked in at CM South and got oriented to our room. Here's how the pH study works. He has to eat every 3 hours, and only every 3 hours. He has to stay upright, or flat for the 3 hours in between feeds. Other than that, it's me following my son around with about 2 feet of tubing connected to a little black box. Think of it like a holter monitor for those who know what that is. About 30 minutes after he ate for the first time, the little bugger got ahold of the tube and pulled it out. He's way better taped now and hasn't tried that again!!!
We hung out all day, just the two of us. Went on wagon rides and played in the play room. Tried to keep busy. He took a good nap, and so did I. He's not sacked on in his crib. I'm going to join him soon. Jason will relieve me in the morning and I'll drop Allie off at preschool and head to work. I still have to feed him every 4 hours tonight, so no rest for the weary!
We'll let you know the results of the pH study when we know them. Still no answers, but still praying for healing for Andrew. More posts to come with pictures!

Whoa! Val, I remember Chellie's hospital stays with Riley. Hang in there. You are strong and a great mom. Your family just wishes that we could do this for you. I'm praying that you get some answers from all of these tests. What a journey. Love you,
Aunt Joyce
Thought about you guys a bunch yesterday. I'm glad to hear everything went well and that Allie had fun, too.
We found your blog via Kelli Nichols' blog last week. We've been praying for you guys! Sorry to hear that little Andrew has been struggling so much with eating. He's such a lucky boy to have such great parents!
