What a weekend!

Well, 37 weeks. I've been having some contractions in the evenings the last week and I'm dilated to a 3, so I'm really hoping for a baby next week. This was a really busy weekend. I graduated Saturday, so I spent Friday doing some cleaning and shopping to get ready. Then Saturday the festivities began. This is me that morning after getting ready for graduation. I haven't taken any pictures of me lately. I've been feeling quite large and uncomfortable lately, but I've been bad about documenting this pregnancy in film.
So we headed Bartle Hall. I rode with Katie and my family came a little later. I forgot how it felt to be in a graduation gown! It was exciting, but I was still having a hard time believing it was real. Life still doesn't seem all that different. I feel like I'm on a break from school and it's going to resume in a few months. But of course, that is not the case. I am DONE!!

Below is me receiving my fake document from the dean of the UMKC School of Nursing. I had never seen her before...I think maybe I knew her name!
Presenting the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (Masters of Nursing) class of 2009! I had so much fun with these girls. They were a great group to work with.

Katie Stangler and I. Man we've been through a lot together! Can't believe we're done!

And of course, Jason and I. He has been so supportive of me through all of this, and I know that this would have been impossible if it weren't for him.

After graduation we went back to the house and hung out. Jason's parents, my parents, Ben, Leah and their kids were all there. The kids stayed at our house with a babysitter during the graduation, so we just waited for them to get up and hang out. Jason bought us some patio furniture for my graduation and Mother's Day present. This box got cut up into a "house" for the kids. It's amazing how much fun cardboard can be!

Leah and Harrison

Leah, Harrison and Allie. Harrison actually got sick at the house. He didn't act like he felt well after his nap, and soon after these pictures were taken he threw up all over his blankie. After puking, he felt much better and spent the rest of the evening playing!

Jason's parents stayed Friday an Saturday night, so they took up our guest room, we had our room, Allie had her room, so that only left the nursery for Ben, Leah and the kids. We were planning on putting the kids all in Allie's room, but Ben and Leah had to leave at 6:30 the next morning to make it to Nebraska on time, so we put them all in the same room...on the floor! We had a futon mattress, a twin mattress and some sleeping bags on the floor and the Giger clan camped out. The kids LOVED it. They jumped on the mattresses and ran around the room for quite a while. Everyone slept well, and they left bright and early without waking anyone up. Allie even slept in 'til 8am!

Today was very uneventful. Jason's parents and Jason let me sleep in to almost 10am. I showered, laid around, ate a little, and went back for a nap around 2pm with Jason while Allie slept. I didn't wake up until 4:30. A lazy dinner, played for a bit, cleaned up, now I'm blogging and Jason is folding the laundry. Happy Mother's Day to me!!

Hope all my Mother friends had a great day!

Valerie

Happy Mother's Day and congrats again on your graduation. I forgot to peek at your new patio furniture so I'm glad there's a pic of it. Looks comfy!
