4th of July

First, Andrew's new trick. You say 'hello?' and he immediately puts his hand to his ear like he's talking on the phone. Here, he has my parents phone and played for some time with it up to his ear saying, 'ha, hieee.'

We headed to the farm for the 4th. My parents had to leave early Sunday morning, so most of our time was spent with my brother and his family. Saturday night we did some fireworks since we knew it was going to be raining the next day.

Here are the fun little poppers.

Of course, everyone knows that after a while, you just have to stomp on them!

Heath and Andrew looking on. "Hey guys! Let us out!"

Allie lighting a smoke bomb. Yes, my 3 1/2 year old daughter is lighting fireworks...well, just the smoke bombs. They were a big hit!

Henry's funny firework dance. That kid had a blast! He was super hyper that night. Loving every minute. May see a pyro in the making!

Uncle Ben helping Allie light her sparkler. This was really the first year that she got to enjoy fireworks. She LOVED it!

Harrison with his sparkler!

Harrison found a cicada (sp?) and promptly picked it up. The boys were very closely examining it. Allie did not want to hold it!

Cheese!

Sunday we went to church and had lunch at Ben and Leahs. The kids went down for naps and Leah and I headed to Emporia to pick a few things up.

Jason and Allie feeding the chickens. He's gonna' kill me!!

We just bummed around that night. They tried to take the big kids to fireworks while I waited with the little ones, but the show got cancelled. Oh well, maybe next year. Let's pile on Jason instead!

They had a sleep over Sunday night. They have so much fun together! It's great!

Monday we headed to Wichita out of boredom. It rained all weekend and we needed something to do. We started out at McDonalds so the kids could play for a little bit, and miraculously the clouds started to part. We headed to the zoo. It rained on us for the first 20 minutes or so, but then the sky cleared and it was just lovely!

Andrew and Heath chilled in the jogger. Andrew attacked early...

But Heath came back with a quick grab!

Allie riding the bull after Jason showed her the proper technique.

They had a great time looking at all the great animals. The Wichita zoo is a lot of fun. More so than KC I think.

What a fun 4th! We went back late Monday night and were definitely pooped...but it was great! It's already been a busy week. Worked a few days and we actually have the weekend free. We just hung out this morning and went to lunch as a family. We're having the basement worked on now, so the kids are down amidst the pounding. Here's to hoping they sleep through it!!
