So, Allison was still spiking fevers and woke up this morning with a horrible rash. I'll show you some pics at the end. We headed to the pediatrician once again (3rd time in a week). Summer had to call another person in to look at her. Dr. Mellick is thinking adenovirus. She's had fevers pretty much straight for 10 days and bad respiratory symptoms, and now this horrendous rash. And oh yeah, because she's on the antibiotics she now has thrush, so we have to do nystatin 4 times a day. That means antibiotics once a day, nystatin 4 times a day and ibuprofen 3 times a day (at least). She used to like her occasional ibuprofen, but now she cries when it's medicine time.
Dr. Mellick sent us for some lab work. Just a CBC, some blood cultures, and tested for the flu (which was negative). We went to a lab first where they stuck once and missed. As opposed to let her stick again, I took Allie to CMH South. Jason met us there as by this point I was exhausted and to the point of tears. Allie just cried and wanted to be held and looked miserable. CMH did a great job, and got the blood on the second stick. Evidentally she has rolly veins! She was such a trooper. She cried and kept saying she wanted daddy to pick her up, but she held still and didn't freak out. We headed home, where it was time for benadryl and ibuprofen and a nap. Unfortunately she only slept about an hour and woke up crabby. I had her take an Aveeno bath because her rash is getting worse and starting to itch. It didn't seem to help. She fell asleep on my lap watching Nemo for the 100th time. I'm pretty sure I have it memorized!! She spiked another fever this afternoon and I tried tylenol this time. She seems a little perkier and Jason just got home. Needless to say, we're canceling our trip this weekend and will have to do it another time. So, pray for my poor baby. If it is adenovirus there's nothing we can do, and hopefully since it's to rash stage it's almost over. I work tomorrow so Jason is on his own. I could stand a little break. I'm starting to feel bruised from carrying her so much.
This awful rash is on her back, stomach, legs and arms, and face. It's getting worse, more and more blotchy. Her face looks awful. I feel so bad for her
Click on the pic to make it larger and you can see how bad her face is

So, I'm ready for a nap, but more than anything I'm ready for her to feel better. I miss my little girl. She's just miserable, and it's making her crabby and disobedient. It's hard to know how far to let your kids push when they don't feel good. She's definitely getting away with more lately!!
