Memorial Day weekend we headed to Branson to stay with some sweet friends at the lake. Originally, Jason and I were going to try and go the weekend before to stay with Dave and Rivers Partin, but it was crazy and I had to work. Dylan and Katherine Kruger were going over Memorial Day weekend, so me being the great friend I am, I invited our family along with them...(and I'm so glad I did)!!
We drove down Saturday afternoon after Andrew's birthday party (yes, it was a very busy day...also included a morning shopping trip and baby shower...yikes!)
I don't think I have had a funner (yes, not a word, I know) time with friends than Saturday night. Got kids to bed (all the girls in one room and Zach and Andrew in the other). The girls went to bed easily. Zach and Andrew...not so much...
At nearly midnight, Zach comes walking upstairs to "hang out" and Andrew was still awake downstairs. Meanwhile, we were playing games and laughing with some dear dear friends. A couple we see often (and yet never get alone time together) and a couple that we haven't spent any quality time with in 4 years since they moved to Hungary.
Didn't get a whole lot of sleep that night, and kids were up bright and early the next morning. We headed to the lake for some fun in the water and then a picnic lunch. Perfection...
These pictures don't even need captions. It was just a marvelous trip, and I wish I had taken even more photos. Guess I'm going to have to rely on my friend Katherine for that (she's a photo aficionado!)
I already miss the lake and the amazing time we had. I hope we can make this a routine occurrence!!
