Flowers and mud pies

Saturday was a gorgeous day. Jason and I were both home, so we tried to make the most of it. Unfortunately, much of the morning involved us both getting our oil changed. I hate when something necessary takes away from something relaxing.

I waited until after nap, and the kids and I headed outside to plant some flower pots. I'm also doing some chives and cilantro this year. I didn't get a chance to dig up the corner of the yard for a vegetable garden like I had intended, so a few herbs and a tomato plant were all I got.

Finished product. I have some more flowers so I need to get a few more small pots to put them in. Every year I over buy. Not the best planner.

While I was trying to be constructive, my children (well, Andrew anyway) were trying to be destructive. I finally gave Andrew and Allison a small pot of dirt for themselves and they started in on the mud pies.

Of course, halfway in, Andrew decided it looked good enough to eat.
Dirt is gluten free, right?

Allison keeps asking me if we can plant flowers again. It was fun, but I think I'm done for a while!
