Easter

Easter weekend was pretty busy. I worked Saturday morning, Jason headed to a class, and I took the kids over to a friend's house to celebrate our friends Dave and Rivers Partin being back in the US from full time missions in Budapest, Hungary. We had some more friends over that afternoon and evening and stayed up way too late.

Sunday, my parents joined us at church and came back to the house for an egg hunt.

Jason and Dad hiding eggs - which is really just throwing them around the yard.

This was dad's way of helping - "hey, there's something at my feet!"

Andrew wanted to stop and open each egg he got to inspect the loot.

Can you see the chocolate running down his face?

After lunch, we put Andrew down and let Allison stay up to dye Easter eggs. It was a fun time.

Each Easter I say that I'm going to make an effort to be intentional about prayer and reflection on the sacrifice of our Savior. And every year, I feel like I've missed it a bit. It goes by so quickly, and life speeds on as crazy as ever, and before I know it, all we're left with is candy and a bunch of hard boiled eggs I have to figure out what to do with. Thankfully I know that it doesn't have to be Easter for me to reflect on what the Lord has done for me. I know that this side of heaven I will not fully grasp it. But I'm learning...

I love that photo of Andrew grinning with the chocolate running down his face! And I totally get what you're saying in the last paragraph.

Your yard looks really good. You must do a lot of work on that...
