Prayer requests

My aunt Debra Irby (my dad's little sister) was just diagnosed with breast cancer. They are unclear of exact staging and prognosis at this time, but it is a rare and aggressive form that has some lymph involvement. They will begin treatment this coming week. Scans, chemo, radiation, surgery...so scary. For those of you who have been through this or have had family experience it, you know how hard it can be on the family. Please pray for Debbie, her husband Rich, and her children and grandchildren. Also, be praying for my grandparents as no parent wants to watch their child go through something like this, no matter how old. Debbie is a wonderful Christian woman who is choosing to glorify God throughout all of this, so pray that He indeed will receive all the glory and honor for her journey. If you want to keep up with her story, go to her CaringBridge site.

Also, my cousin Cody (on my mom's side) and his wife Lorena just had their second baby. Tristan was delivered early, and only weighed 4 lb 2 oz. He wasn't growing and they did further testing and found an oomphalacele and tetrology of fallot. Many will know what that is, but for my non-medical readers, an oomphalacele is essentially a really bad hernia on his stomach and tetrology of fallot is a heart defect that will require two different surgeries to correct. He was transferred to CMH NICU today and will not have his first procedure until he gets a little bigger. All of his chromosomes came back normal (Praise God!) Please pray for Cody and Lorena and their two year old son Kaden. This is very scary for them and having no medical background, they are having to put their faith in the doctors and nurses to tell them all they need to know. Please pray that they would also continue to put their faith in Christ, for His amazing healing power and for His comforting arms.

When it rains it pours. Please keep my family in your prayers.

Valerie
