A Day in the Life of Allison...(it's a little long).

So, I got to thinking that I hadn't posted pictures in a while, and decided to bore you all with a little "day in the life of..." It is a long one, but it will also be fun to look back on this and laugh!

Allison usually starts her day around 7:45 am. I can always tell how the day is going to be by whether she wakes up crying or talking. It's mostly talking, just like today. Breakfast is the first order of business. I think it was some yogurt and dried fruit this morning!

She definitely lets me know when it's time for a bottle.

We sat a played and read some books after breakfast.

Well, I read some books, Allison just chewed!

Nap time around 9:30. She went right down. Usually does if she's really tired!

And woke up with a smile!! Nice hair Allie!!

Hamming it up for the camera!!
"I'm happy mom, but get me out of here so I can play!!"
Lunch time. I'm doing more finger food now, but she had some baby food green beans for lunch. She mostly wore it today. She likes to bang her head on the back of her high chair...not hard, just so that she can make it move. Needless to say, it's like hitting a moving target!!

"Ok mom, ready for my bottle!"

"Oh, thank you!"

Then it's errand time. She'll be up now until 2:30 or 3:00, so that gives me a few hours to get some much needed shopping done. Here we are at SAMS. She is always turned sideways or all the way around, and must be chewing or playing with something. This is something she found in my purse."Mom, I'm sick of my car seat...and I don't want to shop anymore!!"
But, she did have a good time at Price Chopper playing with the various food items...this is a nice bag of pasta!!
She fell asleep in the car and I just laid her down for a nap...so I didn't take a picture of that, but this is after her 2 1/2 hour afternoon nap...just a bottle this time.

We needed to get out of the house again. Took a walk around the neighborhood and then went to the park and swung and watched kids play. I didn't get a picture of us swinging...that was next to impossible (and believe me, I tried!)

I was cooking dinner, and next thing I know, she's opened up some drawers and is investigating the contents.

"Hey mom, I know this is the heaviest casserole dish you have, but I really want to pull it down on top of me!!"
I'm definitely going to have to rearrange some of the kitchen!

Dinner consisted of some nasty pureed ham (which she loves...gross!) and some cottage cheese, which she wasn't so sure about. Then it was finger food and sippy cup time. Of course we've discovered the "drop the cup and mom picks it up" game. It's loads of fun!!
Play time with daddy. She has so much fun with him. He gets on the floor and plays with her a lot more than I do. He has just finished tackling her and she's going to make a run for it!!

BATH TIME!! Months ago, Allison hated bath time. Now it's one of her favorite times of the day. Except that you have to be really careful with her or she'll stand up and wipe out. She's dangerous!!

She also loves to put her cups on the faucet. Evidentally it's great fun.

Getting all dried off. Not the best pic, but she definitely wasn't holding still!
We played for a while on the guest bed...something she loves, and then I declared it was time for bed. Allie's response..."See ya!"
She hasn't been taking a bottle very well to go down. She has it all figured out, and the second you step into her bedroom with her bottle, she tries to get away. And forget feeding her. We've had to trick her by putting her back in her high chair or taking her to another room...with all the lights on. Lights off means night time...she's got that figured out! She was in bed by 8:00 pm and fast asleep soon after. She slept until 7:45 this morning and we started it all over again. It doesn't seem like we did too much...but seriously, it can wear a girl out. She is so much fun, and nearly always happy. She's a good eater, good sleeper, good at entertaining herself. I couldn't have asked for a better kid.
I'll leave you with a very short video of Allison playing on the guest bed. I will warn you that she tries to take a dive and I cut the camera off, but no children were harmed in the making of this video!! And yes, she has the hiccups!

I think it seems like you did a lot! I guess it all depends on your perspective. I enjoyed reading about your day.

What a wonderful commentary on a day with your daughter. Alli is so darned cute. You and Jason are doing a great job as parents. I'm very proud of you.

Good Job Val! I love what can be done with pictures, videos and a blog! I really feel like I'm keeping in touch with you, Allison and Jason, which is so great. I've felt separate from everyone for a very long time... I've heard that BSF is great. I think Deb went for awhile and cousin, Sharon Hephner, taught for a few years in Wichita I think. I'm sure you'll love it.

I loved hanging out with your little one the other day - she likes to turn her head just as one is about to put the food in. She had lots of chicken on her face after eating. :+)
