Last minute decision to drive down to the farm on the day of the 4th. Had to drive back late that night, but BEST DECISION EVER!! Had a great day. One of the best days of the summer. Wish we could do it more often!
Ben and Leah have a large kid-sized pool they bought for their boys. It's the perfect size for little non-swimmers!
My dad built a fire pit this fall. Well, it's really just a big hole in the ground surrounded by big rocks of limestone. Man, that thing can burn a lot of wood! Waiting until fall when we can really light it up without worrying about setting the whole countryside on fire!

Andrew tried very hard to keep me from taking his picture while he ate his toasted marshmallows.
But I persevered!

After lighting some wood (and anything else the kids found that could burn...) we lit some fireworks.

This was a good year to let the kids start lighting all their own fireworks. They loved it!
They got pretty brave at the end. We have to make sure we teach safety!
Despite the fact that we had to drive home very late - the kids had an amazing time. What a great day with family!
